Jesus: The Consolation of Israel
Dec. 23, 2007
Teacher: Jim Folk
Passage: Luke 2:21-38
Simeon and Anna longed to see a preview of the Messiah's glory. Christ's glory is seen in the fact that his salvation has been prepared for all people and in the fact that he reveals the true intentions of people's hearts. Once we see both of those aspects, we realize we have nowhere to run but the grace of God - whose love shines bright in the eyes of the beautiful Christ child. As the old hymn says, "The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight"

Verse of the Day
- "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
