Be On Your Guard
Mar. 15, 2009
Teacher: Jim Folk
Passage: Mark 13:1-23
Jesus teaches on the coming persecution that will precede his return. Rather than focusing on the details of events that will signal his return, we should focus on God. Instead of fear in the face of hardship, we should focus on God as our constant source of strength. Instead of following false prophets, we must cling to the historic truths of Jesus' teaching. And, we must guard against the temptation to be silent when persecuted for following Christ, and pray for strength to proclaim Christ and to see Christ in the midst of suffering.
